The centerpiece of the assemblage is two Siamese twins,with a embroidered white christening gown made from vintage cotton.The embroidery on the bottom is a faint blue/gray and their little bonnets are trimmed in cream and baby blue vintage lace.They are holding a paper that has a short poem on it.
They are mounted on a vintage red wooden frame with a cloth background,so it looked like they are coming out of the frame Alice Through The Looking Glass style.
The whole piece is 18 X 11 1/2 inches,and is made to hang on a wall.

One of the 9 Satanic Statements in the Satanic Bible is “Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates!”
I have been having a kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates preaching moment all month this month.
Voodoo also pretty much believes in the same thing.
The majority of us believe that if somebody comes to rely,even totally depend or worse abuse you help,you aren’t helping them at all.They will not grow in a social,moral or mental sense if they own ability to take responsibility for their actions or help themselves.
I have been scolding a few of the folks around me about letting people abuse them,I think we are all guilty of that.
Let me say here that I’m so so so not saying that you should be friends with people or help people with the intention that you will do that just to get something out of them in the long run,no no no no no!
What I’m saying is that the universe is build on BALANCE,and I think in some aspects that balance is one of the core principles of any religion.That doesn’t just go for people who practice pagan or left hand path religions.Even Christianity has the belief that “Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.” and “So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.” which boils down to universal balance.
As I said before I have been scolding a few folks who are close to me about not letting themselves a doormat.We are all guilty of it,and like most things we are “guilty” of we are suppose to learn from it and GO ON.I have the personal belief that any bad situation in life at the very LEAST is a learning experience in that it teaches us what it is like to be in that situation,that way we can be sympathetic to people in the same situation and also we will learn if we can help it not to ever inflict that situation on someone else.
People can trick us into helping them,some people are just such dark spirits that they play the victim part so well,that you will end up being tricked into helping them before you help a person that is really in need.Again I don’t think the universe,God,The Gods or whatever you call it will let kindness even if it’s misdirected go unrewarded.But it’s best to be able to spot these types and not go through the heartache of realizing you gave up sanity and savings up to these people,again learn from it and go on to not do it again.
Plus there are sooooooo many people that really are deserving of help or even a kind word,most of the time the people really in need will be hesitant to ask for help,always beware of what I call “gimmie gimmie” people.If somebody asks you for help 10 times in one month,,is just a little bit to damn comfortable asking or worse telling you they need you help for this or that,or ask you for help with the dire situation of say “needing” some stupid frivols thing and if they smell of greediness grab yourself and RUN!Fool me once shame on you,fool me twice shame on me.
There are real needy people in this world.There are children with Cancer,people who have lost loved ones,even lost relationships with people close to them,people with sick loved ones,actual POOR people *not people who claim to be poor because they live beyond their means* and even people who have sick pets or pets that have passed on are actual people who deserve a kind word or a helping hand.
I know how immensely appreciative I was for people who just sent me condolences when Scooter passed on.It wasn’t a life threatening situation on my part,but just the fact that other people were kind enough to even write a note saying they were sorry for my loss was so touching to me I can’t put it into words,and I will truly appreciate it and the people that did that till the day I pass on,and even after that I will appreciate it.
Which also goes to show you that it doesn’t cost allot or even any money to help somebody in need.
Bake a pie for a friend who has been taking of a sick or disabled family member,take your friend for a walk that just had a bad breakup,offer condolences or kind words to those who have lost a loved one,send a box of cookies to a friend who is down and out.
Be kind to those who deserve it,and don’t waste love on ingrates.

I actually had a pretty good Friday the 13th.I went and had my hair cut.I was starting to look like Cousin It and not to mention I live in sweltering Louisiana,where super long hair makes it extra hot for the summer.
Lori of Salon EV in Lafayette,La did the haircut for me.She’s a lovely talented Gal,so add her on myspace and support a fellow DIY business gal!
I also spent my Friday the 13th hanging out with Miss Megan *who took the photo of me,with the new haircut,the necklace in the pic courtesy of Lulu’s Shop

I get asked allot what makes something art or what makes something great art.
What makes something art in my mind is emotion.I think art,TRUE art is 90% TRUE feeling and 10% technique/artistic ability,talent or whatever you want to call it.
You can have amazing technical ability,but if there is no emotion behind it,then that just makes it a ability to put something together,it’s just design then.It’s not art.
I think that if you have enough strong emotion inside of you,that it will grant you the talent and artistic ability to make amazing art.
If you look at the art of the mentally ill,even if it’s crude it’s so filled with emotion that it’s almost always striking.
That is one of the reasons I really detest kitschy pop type art.Even if it’s something that is design/technique wise that is really well put together,it’s just design.Like a image on a t-shirt or a bumper sticker.
Again it’s one thing if you are making something that would happen to fit into the whole kitsch art genre,but you damn well can’t tell me that making modern copies of sad eyed kid paintings or paintings is done out of some deep emotional response.It’s done because you have no soul and aren’t smart enough to tap into your own emotions,or maybe you really are soul less and don’t have emotions.
I know I tend to chap people because I am in a way a art snob,but so were the founders of Surrealism.Maybe it’s just in a Surrealist blood to want to go against the grain of the rest of the art world,but I guess somebody has to.

A collection of menstrual superstitions.I myself don’t think the one about hair not holding a curl is all that much of a superstition.If I try and curl my hair when I’m on my period or right before it,or even try and dye it,it doesn’t hold.I’m assuming it has something to do with hormones or just the fact PMS and the like make your hair and skin more greasy.
And I’m pretty sure when allot of us are on our period we get so grumpy we could look at a swarm of bees and kill them.

I’m trying to kick myself in the pants and work on my Uglyshyla.com site a bit.For as egotistical as I’m sure I come off sometimes I have to kick myself in the pants to work on my personal site.Because I’m just not that excited to stare at myself for hours on end and type in drivel about myself.I have no prob running my mouth about my opinions on things,but I really don’t like talking about myself,cause I just don’t find myself all that damn interesting.
God where does all the time go,It seems like I’m always spreading myself thin but I guess I do it so much I don’t get anything done one at a time.Even when I log on to the computer I see messages and e-mail from friends I really adore the hell out of which say a few years ago I spend hours just shooting the bull with so to speak,and I have to leave the messages in my in box and almost make a appointment with myself to at least get the time to reply back to them.I think I’m to blame for not having much of any off time because I always find myself something to do.When you work for yourself you almost have to be that way or you don’t get to have luxuries like food money for yourself.
I realized today just how much I make notes on things.Not just notes but notebooks,scrapbooks,diagrams,color and fabric swatches for doll work and fashion stuff ect.Just the scrap/note books I have and continue to keep notes in is sort of crazy.
I have one beside my bed that I sketch dream imagery in,
5 in the Altar room,
One for art sketches.
One for just art type reference of photos I take out of anything I come across of stuff I need for reference.
One for fashion photo references and sketches.
One to keep all of the loose sketches,small paintings doodles in for my mother,because she likes keeping things I make,even doodles.I tell her I know it’s just because if I die before her and my art becomes really collectable she will sell them one by one.LOL
One a list of rituals and occult stuff I need to keep track of.
That is just the note/scrap book things.This is NOT counting the likely hundreds of notes or doodles scattered about the house,car,purse.And it’s not like to do list,or list of things to shop for,these are what I call crazy people notes,of dream imagery,art work doodles,interesting bible quotes,torn out photos of Jesus or things like say a Frog.
I have always just assumed it was like a “crazy people thing” to keep so many notes about things,allot of totally mental people just keep note books to obsessive over things in,or huge volumes of crazy people doodles.
I realized why I do this now,I do it because I know there is a likelihood I will become totally insane one day,and I will lose my mind.The notes are there to keep things,so others can see what I have lost.

After making the maxi pad banner for my site,I realized what a obsession I have with menstruation.I go so far as to collect unusual things having to do with menstruation and also books on the subject.
I think I realized why I have such a fascination with it.It’s sort of like when you see something really horrible and you just feel the need to make somebody else look at it.We all have that inborn need that when we see,hear or even smell something utterly repulsive that we have to make somebody else share in it.
I’m more or less a tomboy,so the fact that my body is female makes me slightly horrified in a way.
For those of you who are male,trust me there is NOTHING more socking and upsetting to wake up one day and see that you are bleeding from your reproductive organs,and not only are you bleeding from “down there” you are also hurting and just a emotional wreck even if bleeding in your pants wasn’t upsetting enough.
Think of the shock and awe you had when you sported your first chest hair,that in itself is frightening but waking up one day to feel like your pelvis was run over by a car,and finding your body is doing something it usually only does if you are dying is pretty damn scary.
After that you realize that you will feel that way once a month till you are likely about 50 or 60 years old.Even as a adult it’s like knowing once a month you will be hit by a slow moving car.
Women have been having periods since the first women lived on Earth.Yet it’s such a upsetting thing to deal with in a way that even thousand of years later we are still *both male and female* freaked out by it.
The human brain is just hardwired to freak out if you see any part of your body bleeding,and even if you happen to be female and it’s supposed to do that it still I think sends a little twinge of shock to your brain.
It’s just something you are programmed to be upset by,even if you are a girl that is brought up with a mom that is open about these things and warns you ahead of time what to expect.Look at girls that are even raised by say Wiccan/Hippy type parents that want to make their first periods about a celebration of becoming a woman,the young girl will STILL normally think OMG what is happening,I’m hurting the bleeding “down there”.They usually are also still mortified that their parents want to call attention to that.
So in short having a period for me is like seeing a dead body in the woods or something,if I have to be scared for life by seeing it,so do all of y’all.
